About Enhanced Services
Enhanced Service specifications are developed in line with NHS West Sussex and locality commissioning plans and objectives.
There are three types of enhanced service:
- Directed Enhanced Services (DES): must be provided by the PCT for its population, e.g. the childhood immunisations programme.
- National Enhanced Services (NES): services commissioned to meet local need to national specifications and benchmark pricing, which the PCT can choose to use if it wishes.
- Local Enhanced Services (LES): locally developed services designed to meet local health needs.
